What We Do
Your Move Collective engages the religiously unaffiliated with the teaching of Jesus by creating tailored digital pathways.
YMC has developed a comprehensive understanding of how to reach the Religiously Unaffiliated through a decade of engagement and research.
By utilizing the communication style of Andy Stanley, conducting primary research in 2022, and drawing on the insights of Everts and Schaupp on the post-modern skeptics’ journey to faith, YMC has designed programs that guide individuals through the following phases of change.
According to YMC’s primary research, the Religiously Unaffiliated have no interest in faith, God, or Jesus, and they seek answers to life’s questions via internet searches and social media. They are looking for a credible, reliable source of information to solve their problems. So YMC’s first step is to simply establish trust, in essence, inviting them to Trust a Christian by providing low-pressure, practical ways to make their lives better based on the teachings of Jesus.
At this phase, participants go from awareness to engagement, demonstrating a willingness to spend time evaluating resources provided. In response, YMC provides actionable steps by crafting personalized content that addresses their most pressing identified needs. As each step is taken, another is offered to continue their journey of making better decisions and having fewer regrets.
As participants reach this phase of their journey, they may be characterized as skeptics or cynics, and have not yet fully embraced the role of a seeker. They need room for exploration based on what they have experienced. To accommodate for this, YMC – based on prior steps in the participants’ journeys and survey feedback – extends an invitation for them to engage deeper into topics that are most important to them through assessments and observed behaviors. They may also be offered the opportunity to join a digital group, which serves as a safe space for them to examine life’s challenges, ponder faith, and possibly even discover a sense of community.
At this beginning phase, participants are specifically asking questions about Jesus. This goes beyond general questions about God—a seeker has heard the teachings of Jesus and wishes to investigate further. Based on behaviors, participants are invited to download a “Discovering Jesus Tool Kit” that provides resources to investigate Jesus as well as a process for the Seeker to find a local church.
This is where the role of YMC ends and the participant accepts ownership of their own faith journey.
With the entire process guided by the Lord and cultivated by the local church, this person will become a follower of Jesus.
For over a decade, we’ve aired practical, Christ-centered content after Saturday Night Live and The Late Late Show across 37 markets nationwide. In 2022, over 80 million messages were accessed via these broadcast purchases. Another 10 million messages were accessed this year through other digital placements. But viewership has never been our end goal.
Our goal is engagement.
Not simply engagement with us. Ultimately, our goal is for religiously unaffiliated people to engage with a local church. Not a small task to say the least. But one we are committed to nonetheless. And thanks to you, we are making progress.
